a wish for november.

last night my friend angela came over for some very, very belated birthday sweet treats.

she lit cupcakes for me and demanded we take a picture. i was laughing so hard that one of the candles blew out just from that.

but i made a wish, nonetheless.

i won't tell you what it is. not exactly. because then it wouldn't come true.

but i will tell you, that right now,

i sure am wishing that november is a heck of a lot better than october.

that i get back in to the routine of waking up early.

that i find myself at the pool more often than not.

that i always have a good book to read

ps: want to know what my goal for the month of november is? learn to flirt. and then practice, practice, practice. right now i'm at the point where me flirting is me being a relatively friendly human being (as opposed to emitting an icy blast, which is what i tend to do with cute men), so i'm just a hop, skip, and a jump away.........

Good luck with your goal! I am dreadful at flirting. I either ignore the boy or laugh like a crazy person every time he says anything.

I hope your wish comes true! And why do we emit icy blasts to men we find cute? It is the biggest paradox of my life right now - I mean, I am pretty sure it's to protect us from being hurt. But I feel like lately, my icy blast is on auto-pilot set to stun any charming fellow who crosses my path. Here's to a better November!

love the photo :)
and...are those cupcakes from crumbs? is it embarassing that i can tell from a photo? except all this summer at work we had crumbs for all the birthdays. and they don't have cupcakes of any form here, so you are kind of killing me.
but it's ok.
also, i too tend to be a major ice-queen in front of guys i like. but i am following your cue and working on it!

hahaha! you're cute! you should get a good book on learning to flirt to read. then you can kill two birds with one stone.

That's funny. I'm the same way! I was mean to my husband most the time. I'm not a good flirter. The key is finding someone who doesn't need that crap... maybe?

i'm totally an icy blast girl too...i love your goal...maybe i'll follow suit! can't wait to hear how it goes!

I can't imagine you would be bad at flirting! Pretend that you are WRITING about a girl flirting and it will pour out of you!

I'm a big believer in birthday wishes! And also a huge believer in fresh starts! I might even make my own fresh start for November. Good luck with your November!

Good luck on making your wish come true & I am SOOOO with you on the waking up earlier!

Meg, you are ridiculously awesome. Why? Because I've had that life-long goal of learning to flirt AND I tend to emit an icy blast as well! I don't know what it is, but I put up walls around me. Perhaps it's some way for me to see if the guy's truly interested in me if he works to break down those walls? I don't know. Sometimes I start to think that these ice-cold walls are only giving me bad luck and not really helping me "see if a guy's worth it." Because so far no one's tried, yknow?

Oh sigh. I wish I could give you a hug. Because I'm glad someone is going through the EXACT same thing as I am.

i probably cant offer a lot of advice about flirting (we sound pretty similar there) but my friend and i have started stepping up our pool time and i've found that a routine or set goal really makes all the difference. i'd be happy to send you our practice sets if you feel like it would be a help! you could think of it as a virtual swimteam :)

Happy late birthday! I so hope your November is better than your October. Oh, and flirting? Girl, you can do it. A simple and quick touch to their hand while telling a story (for emphasis, of course!) can do wonders... Xoxo

Happy (belated) Birthday!

Try putting a little extra eye make-up on, and making eye contact. Guys seem to love it... :)

Good luck flirting!
