dog-eared pages and coffee stains: a book club of sorts

This post led to many a marvelous suggestion about books that I should read. And this list is lighting a fire under my oh-so-lovely-behind to get crackin'...a book club to form and books, books, books to read (25 before the big birthday). So... all this got me thinking. I'm adding this little collage above to my sidebar. One click on it will lead you here to this post (this ever-evolving, constantly in need of edits post). The idea is that this is a place where you (yes, you!) can leave suggestions or book reviews. It's (in a sense) a little online book club. I'll let you know what I'm reading and publish reviews as I check off those 25 books. And I'll pass on my all time favorites. So, here we go...

Yay!! I am SO glad you decided to do this. I just went to the library today and I wandered around for a long time trying to decide what to borrow ... now I'll always have some suggestions on hand. (And also some more reasons to avoid reading Ulysses!) I hope you enjoy The Time Traveler's Wife as much as I did and please do send any recommendations my way too!

My other two faves on your list are Curious Incident of Dog.... I laughed so hard I almost wet my pants.

AND I love anything Margaret Atwood.

book covers are delish!!! I've been wanting to read "The History of Love." Let us know when you get to it, so that I can read along with you... like a book club! :)

also, "Feast Of Love"-- Thao, did they make a movie of this with Greg Kinnear and Morgan Freeman? if so, I LOVED it. Splendid!

you must read "water for elephants" and "A heartbreaking work of staggering genius". Really anything by David Eggers is brilliant.

Micaela: My goodness, they DID make a movie! I didn't know. Another thing to add to my Netflix!

I absolutely LOVE "The Hero and The Crown" Robin McKinley is one of my favorite authors.
It's probably too late to add books to your list; but I recommend "The Bronze Bow" by Elizabeth George Speare, and "Jacob Have I Loved" by Katherine Paterson.
Quick reads, but oh so good!

Hi Meg, i've just finished *The Time Traveler's Wife* and it was awesome... I was alone at home while reading the end of the story, i was so sad thinking what if something like that happened to my fiancé (at work at this moment) and guess what ? He did text me at the exact moment i started to cry, just to say he was thinking of me... It made me laugh, could he be something like Henry ?

I wonder what to read next, i must pick a book from your list (already read "The History of Love" which is truly beautiful...)

I love Swimming to Antarctica by Lynne Cox. While it is about open water swimming, it is about much much more.
