THESE DAYS//

...the walk from the subway to home brings sheer joy. each. and. every. time.

these are the days i remind myself to breathe deeply. to slow down. to look for the fireflies and to enjoy the small things--the new shoes and freshly painted toes. the ability to pull out on a pen and paper anywhere--on the subway, in the middle of a concert.

these are the days that bright lips and fresh bangs and an air conditioner (that i managed to install all by myself) make all the difference. a full night's sleep, a clean room. these are the things...

Lovely bangs and lipstick on a lovely girl. So glad you're enjoying Brooklyn. We love its slower pace and (mostly) quiet charm.

sweet meg, it looks like brooklyn is agreeing with you! the other day i stood out on my terasse while it was raining, with my eyes closed and just trying to pick out the different sounds of the rain. it was wonderful, and i even remembered to breathe :)

i'm so glad to read writing from a happy person! but can you explain, to someone who doesn't know NYC, exactly what it was about your old neighbourhood that you disliked? you mentioned in fragments (unless i just read in fragments) that you didn't like getting home from the subway, or late at night... but I'm curious to know more. xoxo
