it's national coffee day!

who knew?!

cheers to everyone from this here latte lover!

and just this week both the huffington post and the guardian wrote about a new study in which researchers suggest the caffeine in coffee might actually alter the brain chemistry in such a way as to ward off depression.

as someone who's been wildly depressed, is hopelessly devoted to coffee, and really has written quite a bit about how coffee is one of the things that keeps me happy...i think the articles (and perhaps the study too) miss the point...didn't expect that did you?

we'll talk about it tomorrow. for now i'm off to enjoy a mid-afternoon pick-me-up.

This is good news! I was just thinking today that maybe I shouldn't drink so much coffee, but this thought made me sad because I LOVE coffee. So your post totally brightens my day. :)

HAPPY NATIONAL COFFEE DAY!

I just heard about the same study - I'm thinking a latte makes me happy because it's a little indulgence I get to enjoy by myself (i.e. best part of my day!)

Best. Day. Ever. Now they need a Mt Dew Day and my caffeine addiction will be justified.

Hmmmm. I'm a tea drinker...maybe I need to switch?

I've definitely spent some time relying on coffee (perhaps too much - too much time and too much coffee) to boost my mood. Can't wait to hear your thoughts on the articles!

I read that article the other day at work...and promptly cited it when my boss walked by and told me I drink too much coffee.

haha love it!
i used to work in a cafe while i was studying at university, and was always slamming back a few (incredibly delicious) coffees every day... i've since backed off a bit now and normally just stick to tea, but i had a bit of an indulgence last night and made these:
http://foodcomablog.com/2011/03/tiramisu-cupcakes/
the recipe calls for one cup of brewed coffee. i may have been a bit heavy handed..
they are incredible. and the perfect coffee day (or regular day) celebration.

When I have my first cup of coffee of the day, my girl thoughts calm down. It must be true that its keeps depression down

Oh man! This is probably the only day this week I haven't had a latte! What are the chances? I'm definitely taking myself to Starbucks for a pumpkin spice on the way to work tomorrow...

I love that the National Coffee Day was my first day off coffee... Haha. I also read about coffee keeping off depression, but I read that it might be a good idea to lessen the intake if you are depressed so I decided to try it. On the National Coffee Day. Oh well.
