This got my looking at other Charles Bukowski quotes and now I can't wait to read Love is a Dog From Hell: Poems, 1974-1977. Because it has stuff like this:

"I'm going, she said. I love you but you're
crazy, you're doomed."

Thanks for posting :)

Ahhh Bukowski, as Modest Mouse sing in their song

'Went to bed and didn't see why every day turns out to be a little bit more like Bukowski'

A day like Bukowski now there's a concept.

These words of his get me every time...

'either peace or happiness,
let it enfold you'

and later in the poem

'I saw the shape of my
wife's head,
she so still,
i ached for her life,
just being there
under the
covers'

Ahhh Bukowski :)

Dear beautiful Meg,

I only just discovered your blog today, and I already LOVE it, and you. Thank you for letting me know that I'm not the only girl who feels this way. Everything from your sometimes-sadness to your European dreams, your future husband, and your love of books... You are beautiful, and when I read your blog I feel that I am too.

this is oh-so-incredibly beautiful. a reminder to strive to wake each day defying the un-lived life.

loving all your post-juilliard pictures. amazing how refreshing some that seemed so scary can be :)

i kept a too-revealing blog many years ago. i gave the address, stupidly, to a boy i barely knew, but wanted to love. and this is how i knew he was not a boy, but a good man: he started reading and then stopped. he told me he wanted to know everything in the blog, but he wanted to hear it all straight from me, over time. i deleted the blog shortly after that and i still don't think i've told him everything that was in it, but we've got time.
