to live in this world, you must be able to do three things:
to love what is mortal:
to hold it against your bones knowing your own life depends on it;
and, when the time comes to let it go,
to let it go.

I feel like Mary Oliver is my close personal friend. She has so many poems that just resonate with me.

I love this one especially. Me - the ever sentimental, saver of all things. I'm learning (though not easily) that you have to be able to let things go. If I can't learn I'll spend my whole life hurting, and that afterall, is no life at all.

Hi Meg...

I'm always following Naomi's blog and I found a post where you were tagged and started reading your blog (which is great, btw)...
It seems that you are always posting things I identify with and this one today was perfect for the moment..
I lost a very good friend in a car accident yesterday and my heart is broken. When I read this I immediately saw myself in those lines.
I just wanted to say thanks for the inspiration.
