domestic determination.
i'm not sure when exactly or even how it happened...
but.
i find myself falling in love with the kitchen.
cooking.
and baking.
(mostly baking).
and i suddenly woke one day to find that i'd amassed so many different types of flours (quinoa, coconut, garbanzo) and powders (cocoa, carob, and on) that my kitchen shelves were out of control.
though a quick trip to the container store and a swish of chalkboard paint and things are looking a little better. not totally organized, but certainly on the way there.
anyone got any good recipes for me?

so, so pretty! inspires me to do something similar!
it was the head and the heart you were gushing over earlier wasn't it?! :) http://www.npr.org/2011/03/15/134562337/the-head-and-the-heart-on-world-cafe
happy st pats!
Ooh, chalkboard paint on jars! What a brilliant idea!
My favorite thing to do when I have a sweet tooth, but know I should eat fruit instead of cake...
Mix 8oz of whipped cream cheese with 1 can of marshmallow cream.
This makes a DELICIOUS fruit dip!
Super cute! I am aquiring quite a few flours as well, so I might have to look into doing this soon!
oh i FEEL you on the baking and kitchen-loving.
try this coconut flour cake recipe..it looks amazing!
If you ever find yourself in possession of Besan (Indian name for Chickpea flour), you can make a delicious dinner. Mix the flour with water to create a batter type consistency (like pancakes). Add chopped onions, chopped spinach, and chili peppers if you like heat. Salt, pepper, some cumin and red chili powder and mix together. Then in a flat pan, grease it up and make a pancake type shape, cook both sides and you can eat it plain or with some yogurt. It's a big hit in my house.
Cute! Where are the pretty jars from?
Here's one of my favorite cooking blogs:

ok that looks awesome.
love the container store. and i have no fab recipes for you except the boring ones that take normal flour. dumb.
you are an organizational genius.
SO CUTE! xo
Oh yes, I love those jars/chalkboard paint. I just painted the edges of our pantry shelves to write with chalk. Feeling organized in the kitchen makes me want to cook too.
Organized and so cool looking! Happy kitchen adventures to you:-) xoxo
Those look perfect! I love cooking and baking more and more the older I get as well. Last night I was hungry and needed to come up with a whatever-I-have-in-my-fridge dinner, so I made kale (sauteed with garlic & chili flakes) with shaved almonds and craisins, and ate it over brown rice, and my goodness it was delicious.
i can't believe you are in love with banking....
oh so cute! love this idea! I so wish I could fall in love with baking too - I've never liked it much. But, some friends & I just made Nutella cookies last night! SO GOOD!
I'm going to steal this idea and do the same thing to my cabinets!
Hey there, I just wanted to tell you that I just happened into your blog, and I really and truly enjoyed the time I spent here. You are beautiful and an amazing writer. I will most certainly be back!
AH! I agree with Jane. I love this. And I think we are both going to have to steal it.

harley
Love the chalkboard paint on the jars. Brilliant!
p.s. i'm so glad you liked the recipe! and that we're friends now! haha.
have a great weekend!
this has to be the singular greatest idea of the week. chalkboard paint is such a fabulous invention. i bought an old window at a thrift store, and i'm going to paint the panes with chalkboard paint and hang it someplace pretty.
stopping by your blog is honestly one of the highlights of my day, pretty lady.
