the food in the pictures from yesterday was from parish cafe on boylston street. its menu is comprised mostly of sandwiches, each one created by a different local and acclaimed chefs.
my brother and i ordered corn cakes to begin. and from there i got the portobello sandwich and well, i can't remember what he got, but i'm pretty sure he liked it.
it was there on saturday afternoon that my brother explained his theory that all females are crazy (i do not disagree) and how a man's tolerance for said crazy is related to her level of attractiveness (though they are not directly proportional because the correlative line curves {or something like that...remember it's been a really long time since i've taken a math class--i don't remember how to talk about it all}).
that top line reads: meg's uncertainty zone. from there connor's broken the chart into three sections: (1) too crazy (2) good and (3) marry now (or as he said, lock it down). i do think my brother has overestimated my level of crazy, but live and let live...who knows, maybe he's right.

haha wow... i really hope that's not true. that food looks delicious!
that chart is hysterical, and -- dare i say -- probably pretty accurate; we girls can be a rather crazy bunch. aren't brothers the best?
my bf always tells me i get away with being nuts bc im attractive.
not proud of it but ill take it.
does your brother watch how i met your mother? there's a whole episode about the crazy/hot scale!
This is hilarious. And that sandwich looks amazing- I'm getting myself to Parish Cafe, ASAP.
I was not a crazy person until I married my husband and then I became this emotional mess, but in a good way (most of the time). Women might be crazy, but men are their own version of crazy.
This is brilliant.

Hilarious!!! I would have to agree for the most part! lol Girls are a bit crazy...myself included. =)
I would like that sandwich right now..looks oh so yummy!
Teh Crazy Hot scale! Have you seen How I Met Your Mother? Watch it, it's hilarious.
The food looks delicious!
In college, I remember some of my guy friends asking me about girls, and our craziness, how to find one that wasn't crazy, etc. I'd always tell them the same thing. We are all crazy. All of us. You just have to find one that has the right amount of crazy that you can deal with and still love us.
Also, I've been meaning to pass this recipe along to you. I really think that you would like it.
Spicy Black Bean Soup
1 Jalapeño
1/2 chopped onion
3 cloves garlic
1 tablespoon olive oil
2 1/2 cups cooked black beans
1 3/4 cup vegetable stock
1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt
1/2 teaspoon cumin
Salt
Pepper
Fresh lime juice
(I prefer to soak and then cook my own black beans, but you can use cans just as easily, especially if you haven't planned ahead.)
Cook the onion, garlic and jalapeño together with the oil for about 5 minutes until tender, add the cumin, yogurt, beans, stock and cook until heated. Doing batches, blend it until smooth then put it back into your soup pot and add salt, pepper and lime juice to taste.
Top with guacamole, or cheese and sour cream, or all three! Or, just eat it by it self, it has great flavor and lots of fiber.
Reading this reminded me of an office Christmas party a few years ago where I had a conversation exactly like that with some random guy. He had the exact same theory as your brother. I don't remember a chart, but it was very scientific (he was a Ph.D. student, after all).
ha. your brother sounds funny. :) and that food looks tasty! glad you had a nice weekend away. :)
xo
HAhaha! I LOVE this - reminds me of that episode of "How I Met Your Mother" but so much better because this is from real life. It sounds like you had a truly great time with your brother; ain't uninterrupted sibling time the best?!
Oh good.
I didn't want to ask. Mostly because I am not headed to Boston any time soon.
BUT I was so curious. Looks DELICIOUS!
I agree with him, some of us "girls" are a little nuts. Great photos, xo
LOVE the Parish - I miss it so!!
Aw, so great to spend time with your brother! Funny brothers are the best, I am grateful for mine every day!
hahahaha oh my, i love that chart. unfortunately, i think i pass into the definite crazy zone. you can't have a dewey decimal tattoo and escape the crazy zone. i hope my future manfriend will find me endearing in my craziness :) and i definitely think you have hope, lovely lady :)
I really hope your brother did not claim this theory as his own, Barney Stinson is the mastermind... :)
Such a cute blog, glad I found it. :)
& that Crazy/Hot Scale totally reminds me of How I Met Your Mother. :)
