late night abandon.

fire in the hole

last night i climbed into bed, pajamas and all at the whopping-late hour of 10:15. when left to my own devices i find i'm a much better and healthier human being when i turn in early and rise much the same.

however after getting a call just five minutes later that promised adventure, i threw on some pants and an over-sized shirt in preparation for a trip up the canyon--the lure of a bonfire is just too much for me.

however, this morning i'm feeling old. staying out till 3 is harder than it used to be. and that much sugar, that late at night is bound to have it's repercussions. but in my defense the marshmallows were the size of small-children's-fists and who can resist that? and i so love to see them catch on fire.

even if i have to spend this week in sugar-detox, it was worth it.

ps: have you ever tried roasted starbursts? no? you must?! that is all i will say.

roasted starbursts?! oh my gosh... you may have just revolutionized my candy-eating.

oh, and kudos to you for actually hopping out of bed for adventure... sometimes my grandma instincts overwhelm any sense of spontaneity and i end up missing on those special late-night memories. so well done :)

happy monday!

I am glad you tried the starburts. People here in Az are scared of them for some reason.
It is my motto to ALWAYS say yes to adventure. You never know what you will discover.
Have you seen the new movie Yes Man? That is what it is all about.

I'm glad you tried roasted starbursts. It's like the Utah staple food.

Mm, roasted starbursts. Whoever thought of that was a genius.

Also, I've seen bags of those giant marshmallows at the grocery store and I'm sorely tempted every time.

Roasted STARBURST?!? I have never heard of such a crazy thing. Nice try getting to bed early. :) I'm glad you gave in to the adventure. Jasmine, from An Experiment In Poverty, turned me onto using a Saltine instead of a graham cracker for s'mores. Try it. The salty/sweet combination is delightful.

roasted starbursts and putting reeces peanut butter cups on your smores instead of regular chocolate are two genius tricks utah taught me.
