you know, there are some days that I really wished I believed in karma. That karma would take care of every person who has wronged you. But I don't think it works that way.
I'm all for shaming. Even in public. When my students plagiarize I get out my brightest neon paper, press print screen once I've located the website, and attach the evidence to their assignment with a big red F on the cover.
Ugh! That's the worst. Sorry, lady. :( I know you're a soft-hearted gal, but I think it's time for some tough (not) love--unless you're offered a sincere apology, I guess. Good luck!
oh lesli--i know!! no worries, i'm so flattered. what i'm talking about here is full on post after post after posts being taken as well as all my sidebar info at the top of my blog. it just makes me sad for the person.
if this plagiarist is using a forum like blogspot or wordpress, i believe you can report them to the respective hosting site and they can be deleted. i'm sorry someone is stealing your beautiful, not to mention inimitable, words.
i sited you on my blog last week! i don't understand how people can copy some one's words and pass it off on their own... i say public shaming, if they're copying your posts and information than they need to be humiliated
I say you do it! Hasn't this happened to you before? See what happens when you write such gorgeously poetic posts, Meg?!! Really though, I hope it all gets worked out. I can't imagine what's worse than someone stealing your words.
Your sidebar even says to give credit where credit is due and to play nice? Did they honestly copy that as well? That's not nice.
Publicly shame them. You've asked before for people to stop. You even have it mentioned on your blog to not COPY! you've had a POST on this. They've asked for it Meg!
I think you should consider emailing them directly and asking them if there is a reason they're plagiarizing your original work. If they don't respond and continue doing it...then I would publicly out them. At least then you can say you made an effort to confront them directly to understand...
good old public shaming is best!! and from what i've seen with other bloggers, it works. (see the blog Katie Did, she has a whole post on it and it's still the most recent I think).
public shaming. definitely. i made sure to give proper credit on the post that was inspired by you. the post is entitled, "thank you meg fee." if it's a problem, i can certainly take it down, no problem. i'm new to the blogosphere, but i do know when to say please and thank you.

Yep.
Go old school and public shame the unoriginal copy cat.
or not.
Either way, that's not cool!
It's not something you want to do, but I think you have to. Otherwise, it will seem like it's an acceptable thing to do. AND IT"S NOT!! :)
i sited you on my blog yesterday! i did not steal your words! i swear! I was giving you props!

So I say shame the plagiarist!

Some things are not to be tolerated.
Definitely!!!! Plagiarism is the one crime for which I have no problem with public shaming! :) Are you a teacher?
Public shaming. Do it.

It is sad that someone would feel the need to take on another person's life because they don't have one.
I agree. Go with the public outing and hope the stealer will stop. If they don't, then go with public shaming.
