morning.

i love the early morning.

it feels sacred.

pulling the cold coffee tin from the freezer i feel God.

and i feel Him as the light angles across my wood floor inviting me to dance, to stretch, to give praise for this movable body.

He sits with me as my palm cups over the mug, allowing the drink to breathe into me before ever raising it to my lips.

this is all contingent upon me being able to get out of bed. of course.

i wish i took the time in the morning to appreciate these things... i am always rushing. Missing out on the little stuff.

I'm with Marisa- I wish I appreciated the morning more, too.

I wish I could appreciate my mornings like you do! I suppose on the weekends I try. This morning I could not get out of bed, and made the executive decision that my first class of the day just wasn't happening :)

I love morning between 7-9 am. Anything earlier is still night-time to me.

Morning's are magical... especially on a day off when you can just relax and take it all in. Gorgeous post!

during the summer, it takes a crowbar to pry me out of bed, but in the winter, it's so cold up in my room that i love to jump out early and run downstairs for a cup of hot tea and a lovely sit by the roaring fire that Papa always has flaming away. some of my most precious times with God have been spent this way.

i love this. really. i love this. early morning is the best - but yes...i rarely experience it because i am a lazy lazy lady.

yes! but only on the mornings when you get up by your own will! forced mornings are certainly not magical at all!

I love mornings, too, just because the rest of the day lies ahead of you and anything, really anything is possible. Anything might happen. Even meeting the one. That's the best feeling in the world.

i am not a morning person, and i wish i was because i fell in love with morning reading your post. (And i fell in love with God even more than i am... if that is possibly!)

i wish i could get myself out of bed to enjoy the early morning, but i love sleep too much...and i get my best sleep during the morning.

Your words are so true. There is something completely simple and elegant about the beginnings of a new day.

This post reminded me especially of the poem Welcome Monring by Anne Sexton. Have you read it?

Mornings are so beautiful.

Yes...I'd have to agree that your toes as well as your feet are pretty and delicate. Maybe if I treat my mornings like the way you do, I might also have lovely feet like you. Except on Saturdays or when I don't have major events later, I wish I had more good mornings.
