"Why do you think you're here, Oskar?""I'm here, Dr. Fein, because it upsets my mom that I'm having an impossible time with my life." "Should it upset her?" "Not really. Life is impossible."
Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close
by Jonathan Safran Foer
i've never read anything more heartbreaking and funny and beautiful all at once. in fact, i think it may just be the most genius thing i've ever read.
i JUST read this a month or two ago and it haunted me and stayed with me for a long long time and still might be holding on to me and making me be more honest and true and trying my best each day.
such genius writing- i almost couldnt enjoy it fully because I WISHED WITH ALL MY HEART that I HAD WRITTEN IT!
Have you read "Year of Majical Thinking" by Joan Didion. I think you would love it because it is about a woman trying to reconcile the loss of her husband but also just the loss of her life with him. While at the same time the introduction of her new life. And everything inbetween. At the core it is a story of survival and I think you would love it.

Dear Meg: I think you and I should have a writing workshop. Let's exchange stories and laughs and maybe once in awhile, a tear. Love, Me.
