any ideas?

i know new york can seem terribly glamorous. but sometimes it's just terrible.

last night i took a subway train strait out of dante's seventh circle of hell. i'm not kidding. i've never met nastier new yorker's in all my life. selfish, profane, and unforgiving.

and then a taxi-cab driver yelled at me tonight. for no reason. i know it was his own stuff, but whoa...he was cruel.

this is all my way of saying...

i'm now fielding offers for alternative locals...

any ideas?

paris, san fran, chicago?

and if anyone could offer me a job on top of that--well, that would be great!

just found your blog, and i think it's darling!

san francisco is a beautiful little city full of friendly people. it has its fair share of eccentrics, though, but i'm sure it can't compete with new york's.

What about Seattle? I've always thought Seattle was pretty classy.
love your blog by the way!

How about you move to greece and deal with those old greek moms who yell and scream at you, but only because it is part of their charm and love. Then you can say OPA! Whenever you want! :D I think you might like it there...
or wait? is that my fairytale? COBBLESTONE STREETS. ;)

Get on the subway again, but this time get off at the Bleeker St. Station. Head south on Crosby St., stopping to admire the pups in the doggie daycare.

Continue to the Housing Works Bookstore.

There you can meet nice NY-ers (who are working for a great cause) while browsing an eclectic collection of books. Then you can be surprised by whatever food is in the cafe that day, homemade by their volunteers.

You'll feel better. ;-)

Come to Baltimore - we're Charm City, baby! And we're crazy quirky too!

Hawaii is always a great place! haha
But I would choose Paris over anything else.
Although I do like Paresh's comment about India.

on another note, that might be out of your way to answer-.but ... how much to NY taxi cabs usually cost?

good job on the apples too. keep it up and ned will be dead.

I follow your blog and it warms my heart!

My husband and I recently got married and our dream is Portland OR. However, pretty much every big city will give you some grief at some point. Just try to relax this weekend and you will feel better. :)

just found your blog via Naomi.

First: you have {119 follower} which is my lucky number, but I'm about to make it 120. Check it out:

Second: um how RUDE? I hate nasty new yorkers who prove all those generalizations, that affect the rest of us.

Third: how about Philly? ... I am watching Baby Mama, and thinking Tina Fey's apartment looks pretty sweet.

How about Canada, eh? I may be biased but I like to think we live up to our reputation of being super nice.
And I see film sets all over Vancouver.

Maybe you just haven't tried the right apples. I hate those narsty Granny Smith green apples that I think I see the core of on your desk on the last post.
Try Pink Lady, Gala or Fuji.

Swiss people are nice when you get to know them, or are respectful, and dress well (oh, and if you try nicely to speak in one of their 4 national languages that helps too) though I don't know of any jobs here :)

However, the hourly minimum wage (at McDonald's, for example- do you fancy working there?) in Switzerland is something like 25 CHF (or around $22). But then again, the average meal at McDonald's is around 13 CHF (or $12, not counting desserts, etc.). Essentially, there is a high wage for an even higher cost of living. So I guess you pay for all the niceties in the end :)
p.s. sorry for all the McDonald's info. I just always find those numbers shocking!

What about London? They (whoever the is) say if you can make it in London, you can make it anywhere.

You would love Chicago, Meg! All the nice things they say about Midwesterners are true. I'm sorry you had a bad day; if I could offer you a job, I would! :)

I would love to tell you to come to Southern California, but if it weren't for the weather and my family, I would leave!!!
