I've just begun The Time Traveler's Wife (apologies, apologies to Krysta who advised against this book) and as of now I'm totally confused.
But...
Just before the dedication page there is a poem by Derek Walcott. And I had to share it...
LOVE AFTER LOVE
The time will come
when, with elation,
you will greet yourself arriving
at your own door, in your own mirror,
and each will smile at the other's welcome,
and say, sit here. Eat.
You will love again the stranger who was your self.
Give wine. give bread. Give back your heart
to itself, to the stranger who has loved you
all your life, whom you ignored
for another, who knows you by heart.
Take down the love letters from the bookshelf,
the photographs, the desperate notes,
peel your own image from the mirror.
Sit. Feast on your life.
Isn't that perfect? Isn't that exactly what everything is all about?

It's one of my favorite books, though my heart hurt the entire time I was reading it.
Hi meg, I found your blog via rockstar diaries and I love your realism and honesty its very refreshing.
This is one of my favorite books ever, the trick is to not try to understand the whole time travel thing, just go with it.
x
I have never read that book, but I love that poem. I wanted to thank you for all your comments! I saw the most recent ones now, but the earlier ones I had somehow never seen until now. So thanks for all the kind words- and agreements about letters to future husbands! :)
