MY NEW YORK + ROUND THESE PARTS

there's not too much to report on this end. life has been... a little unclear and a little uneasy and quite a bit of leaning into the unknown.

but okay.

life has been okay--both because of and despite all those many murky things.

though i must admit  i do believe the winter blues stole upon me these last few weeks and i can feel my body craving spring, calling out for the green that heralds the season. i love my neighborhood always, but never quite so much as when it is flush with green and the birds sing that morning song.

Girl, I feel ya on the craving Spring part. The lack of warmth and sunshine has gotten me down lately. I started taking Vitamin D supplements. Ha, no joke. And actually, it has helped !

Loved Peels - that granola is heaven! I think I ate breakfast there three out of the seven mornings I was in NYC! x

I used to live in England. And whenever I came home to Arizona over Christmas I would invariably look up to find myself wearing my swimsuit and parading and sloshing around outside in the midwinter sun. Just drinking in. And not caring a fig about anything else.

Meanwhile, in Syracuse...

The lovely hit of wet snow weather created a finish. This morning, the snow had a brittle coating, and the top of the snow had an eggshell texture, but it was strong enough to trip my steps in the slightest bit.

The snow upon my car held true, breaking apart like breaking through the crispy crème brûlée top. It was entertainingly laughable to break through to the car and slide the frozen snow puzzle pieces off.

The less winter activities done this year, skiing and snowshoeing, yields more anticipation for spring... which won't hit until late may.

Lucky NYCers.

We need spring so badly here in NYC! This snow is really bringing me down. Last night was seriously an unexpected hot mess.

I am so excited to have lunch with a friend next week at Peels; it has been awhile since I have been there and I am craving their biscuits! Hope you are having a great week!

I've been hearing great things about Frances and Bernard--your recommendation is tipping me over the edge. I'll have to pick it up. And Meg, I really love your photos of Manhattan and Brooklyn. Makes me anxious to visit again.

What beautiful pictures!! I hope your winter blues pass soonish- I think I've got them at the moment, but sunshine (even though it's BLOODY FREEZING) is helping somewhat. x
