Seeing the destruction in New York is a lot like seeing the destruction in New Orleans after each and every hurricane. Being from New Orleans, my heart continuously breaks for those who are going through such a rough time right now, knowing the situation many are in now.

Hope you are safe. I live in MA and we were fortunate enough to not have been hit very hard. Just lost power for a day. I keep seeing photos of cars under water, trees overturned and sand from beaches washed into roads and people's yards. My heart goes out to you and all those who have been so greatly affected by this.

I LOVE that people decorated. In all of this wreckage and devastation (i think its a safe word to use here) that people are still exuding a bit of normalcy, a light in the dark if you will

I love the Halloween spirit, but the wreckage of the beautiful city saddens me to no end. So sad!

Meg -- you should check out the Avett Brothers on Jimmy Kimmel last night. I think you'd like it. http://www.hulu.com/watch/420550#i0,p5,s10,d0
