one stop past Carroll.

sometimes i'll take the subway one stop further than needed. because when the F train leaves carroll street it rises above ground and for just one moment i'm fifteen again, riding the tube in london for the very first time. and once that moment passes and i remember where and who i am i look out over the neighborhood. and i can see the church one block down and i can see my tree-lined street and i can see all the corners i'm falling madly in love with. and as i move up and past them i think, be home soon.

it's the little things.

I love these moments. it's so important to focus on them and appreciate them for what they are... I forget that far too easily.

love how you put this into words. memories of london do the same to me, just that i was 19.

It really is always the seemingly little things that make life all the more beautiful, especially when those little things are wrapped up with some lovely memories.

I have moments like those, only for me, I'm reminded of Brooklyn. I cannot wait to call it home again one day. I don't know if I'll go back to my old neighborhood (Bensonhurst), but I definitely will be going home.

i sometimes get off the train one stop early at Waterloo so I can walk over Golden Jubiliee Bridge and people watch.. and I can remember who I am too.. just for a little bit of my day. it's quite peaceful amognst the madness you know x

Ha! My stop use to be 7th Ave. Well, actually, it I lived closer to 4th St 9th Ave but after a long day I'd rather walk down hill than up. Anyway, I always rode the F instead of the R as I loved going over ground too.
