I took some time today to walk slowly and with care around Carroll Gardens and Cobble Hill and up into Brooklyn Heights today. I wanted simply to feel the cool and holy air that signals this season of autumn. To feel the weight of the camera against my chest and in my hand. I am so unutterably grateful for this area in which I live. For the small streets and meat shops and farm-to-table restaurants. The red brick and cobble stone streets and draping plants.

Beautiful photos Meg! I especially love numbers 1, 6, 7, and 8. Isn't it the best to go for a stroll with your camera and really see the little details around the neighborhood? It's my favorite thing to do, it always relaxes me and leaves me with a greater appreciation of where I am at this point in my life, physically and mentally : )

Autumn weather is by far the best for exploring--it is as if everything comes more alive to my senses. I appreciate things so much more in this season.

Beautiful pictures. I love those areas of Brooklyn and the way you've captured them is lovely. Numbers 1 and 7 are my favorites!

I hope you were able to enjoy the weather today. I'm in Pennsylvania, about 1 1/2 hours from the city and it was gorgeous out today.
