you know what i want?
to hear bare-feet on the old-wood-floor.
to hear the creak and strain and clomp.
and know that they're yours. your feet.
that's all.
love, love,
the girl listening from the bed

I seriously love that sound. It is so comforting. Or the sound of him coming in the front door.
I wrote something very similar like this in my journal years ago, and let me tell you: now that I have that... now that I get to experience it, it really is a great sound/feeling.
I really hope you get to experience it soon!
I just can't wait for the post, where you first write about him, about the person, about your husband to be.
I couldn't be more curious!
Good luck with finding him as soon as possible !! xx
xoxox love this
so sweet.
this seriously made me smile :)
i always love these. that's all.
Love this! Smiling!
i love these letters, so beautiful.
this makes my heart happy and sad at the same time. so beautifully said, meg.
Achingly beautiful.
these posts. <3
i melt.
i feel silly though. because i have this mega huge stupidhighschool-like crush on my friend and coworker, and he's who i pictured as i read this. he is also who just texted me as i read this. so then i panicked thinking he'd been around me just now, listening to my thoughts.
oh boy.
I love these posts...they're some of my favorite :)
This is so tender.
Love, love, love...I hope when you do find this husband-to-be you keep sharing your letters with us. :)
Mmmmm. Yes, yes, yes.
Oh don't we all wish for this. It's those simple little pleasures that can only be experienced with that one other person that is just waiting to be found. Someday I hope...
ah! meg, you capture these little intangible moments that make my heart so happy. it's a gift my dear. hold on to that tightly, okay?
yesterday my coworker and i discussed odd sensory preferences, such as sounds and smells...you made me think of it. mine were the smell of sunscreen and the sound of the trashcan emptying on a mac. other people's responses included the smell of puppies, the sound of a basketball swishing, and the sound of the windshield wipers on the highest setting.
