"Last night, as I was sleeping" by Antonio Machado {and happy monday}

Last night, as I was sleeping,
I dreamt -- marvelous error!—
that a spring was breaking
out in my heart.
I said: Along which secret aqueduct,
Oh water, are you coming to me,
water of a new life
that I have never drunk?

Last night, as I was sleeping,
I dreamt -- marvelous error!—
that I had a beehive
here inside my heart.
And the golden bees
were making white combs
and sweet honey
from my old failures.

Last night, as I was sleeping,
I dreamt -- marvelous error!—
that a fiery sun was giving
light inside my heart.
It was fiery because I felt
warmth as from a hearth,
and sun because it gave light
and brought tears to my eyes.

     Last night, as I slept,
I dreamt -- marvelous error!—
that it was God I had
here inside my heart.

(a very kind reader sent this my way and i can hardly read it without crying. so true and beautiful and needed is it this week--may it be a good week for us all--full of light and marvelous errors and honey made from sweet failures and divinity, above all else).

Hello. I was recommended to check your blog by one of my blog readers - glad I did. I found myself scrolling down and down to read more and that's always a good sign. I do live in Europe and I did once spend an afternoon at the ballet; my husband took me to Swan Lake at the Royal Opera House in London and I cried at the end it was just so dramatic! Nice to meet you. Lou x
