the lumineers: the mercury lounge, august 30.
such a good, lovely, lovely evening. his voice really is something else. it lives in that space between--you know the space... that special space that literally reaches out, grabs you by the innards and hoists you up. yup, that space.

Very Cool! I always love black and white concert pictures.
Oooh, I'm so jealous! I just recently got into their music, I can't wait until they have a full album available. Great pictures too :)
I haven't heard of them till now.
I could definitely use a night like this. x
@hannah joy: they said there would be one very, very soon! me too, can't wait!
Wow, they play with a cellist? That is so original!
I'm a classical double bass player myself, so that caught my eye :) I'll have to look them up!
amazing photos! yup, i know that space! :)

Your photography is always so beautiful! You really have a gift!
these pictures are magical. i'm youtubing the band right now. i could use some more music that really moves me.
they are great! glad you had a good time at the show! there is nothing quite like live music. it rejuvenates the soul.
I like how you shoot b/w pictures at concerts. it adds a cool vibe to them...
i'm glad you have found so much joy in live music. it's such an experience. =)
someday will you teach me how to take great concert pictures like these? mine always turn out like crap. i'm sure the fact that i'm trying to take them on a camera phone doesn't help matters. :)
ah yes, that space :o)
Looks so good! the photos are really great! I love, love, love that they have a cello!!!!
never heard of these folk...BUT, i am going to check them out....a mandolin, upright bass and accoustic guitars are right up my alley and a good start to win my approval....if they were to throw in an accordian i don't think i would care if they could sing or not!
i love all of your photography, but these photos are particularly stunning. the richness and texture of the black and white lends plausibility to the notion that they could just as well return from the photographic stillness of these captured moment, of their past selves, and play for us as they played for you. lovely.
Great photos. How do you do it? I can't get close enough usually, and it's always so chaotic. Then again ... it might help if I had a better camera than an old version of the iPhone that doesn't zoom ...
love these images. i'm so jealous of all of your concert goings!!

meg, your photos. they say so much. you really have a talent, dear.
...I think I may have seen you taking these pictures. I remember glancing over to my left during the show when that lovely cellist moved to stage right, seeing a woman with a very nice camera, very close, taking pictures and dancing. How i'm envious of your angle. thanks for posting these and letting me see the show again, from the other perspective. Beautiful photos.
love your photography. just simply love.
