as long as i live in manhattan, i should:

230/365

there is a low, guttural call in the pit of my stomach.

it is the desire to spend a night in a basement bar dancing to nothing but bob marley (or any music that came out of paris in the 1960's).

to leave the bar only when forced and wander the streets of lower manhattan in search of breakfast.

this is entirely doable, non?

who's in?

Me, please!

If only it weren't for the great big continent I'd need to cross to get there...

If now isn't the time to do it, when will it ever be?

I think it's one of the best ways to spend a night - dancing.
I do this once in while. It always screws up my day-nigth rythm, but it's worth it.

Sounds like a fun night/morning....if only I was there I would dance the night away!! Read your blog often but don't comment a lot. I love it still!

i am coming all the way from sydney in october to spend 4 weeks in lower manhattan, so please let me know if you'd like some aussie company.

i guess i should point out though... i may not be the best companion when it comes to navigating my way around in search of breakfast. wandering aimlessly however is absolutely one of my top 5 life skills.

I am so totally in.

Oh, yes please. I love the wandering search for breakfast as much as I love dancing the night away. (Which is a lot.) I'm in!

What?!?! No way!!!! Bob Marley's music came out of Paris in the 60s? Cah. Ray. Zee. I had no idea.

Totally doable! I like when breakfast comes without sleep. It's so much more interesting.

i guess i just don't understand the whole blogging world, but there are all of these people above me here saying "i'm in!" and stuff like i'll buy plane tix to meet you and do this activity!" and stuff but really...

...all of these social agreements are just in a virtual world....none of these plans and enthusiastic agreements to enjoy the world with wild abandon (as you say in your post) will ever come to fruition, so....

i am left baffled. by the blog world. it's all fake. it's all just internet non-happening stuff. No one responding to this post is actually ever going to come join you in a basement bar dancing to bob marley or wander the streets of lower manhattan in search of breakfast. Everyone is just going to do it in their minds or on the internet.

Including you.

Blogging highlights why genuine human interaction is going straight into the existential void..........you're not ever going to really dance to bob marley in 3-D and then write about it afterwards. You're just going to slap the virtual idea of it up on a computer screen and not even have to do it in real life.....
