wherever i go...my camera will follow...

one of a few new year's resolutions that i'm trying to get a jump start on.

i'm saving my money to buy a heavy duty camera with the hope of then taking one of nicole's classes (or at least getting the textbook). but i figure before i spend the big bucks on a nice camera i have to make a habit of taking photos wherever and whenever.

(did i ever tell you that it was a b in photography my junior year of high school that nocked me off the honor roll for the first time in my life?)

never too late to improve one's self, i say!

i love these!

i ended up selling my big fancy nikon because a. i suck at taking pictures. and b. i hated how HUGE it was, when I wanted to sneak a picture of things (like a restaurant scene or fun things at a store)

Ooh, I love the sixth one. Makes me want to pluck up the roundest tree, untie it in my living room, and watch the branches fall into place.

I am buying a Canon DSLR post-Christmas and I am so excited!

Happy picture-taking!

ah, so much lovely! something about dead trees without leaves and fresh green christmas trees make me happy. the simple things, right?! this is making me mourn the loss of my god ol' dslr!

great idea! I'm trying to do the same as well. I always have my point and shoot camera with me but I want to try and carry my slr with me all the time (it's bulky but worth it). Can't wait to see more photos. =)

thank you for resolving to take more pictures! You see things on a daily basis that I have never seen - it's so nice to dream of traveling to NY - and your pictures are an even bigger inspiration to do so!

go back and show your teacher these killer photos! that'll teach 'em:) love, love the whimsy and happiness that each one of these shots portrays. the angles you choose are so unexpected, yet make perfect sense. i would call that an eye, my friend!

Yes! Love photography! What kind of camera will you get? Currently I am wishing for a little pocket digital so that I don't have to lug my big camera EVERYWHERe....

I recently told my husband we need to invest in a 2nd camera so I can keep one in my purse at all times.

And the best piece of photography advice I ever got came when I was freshman in college - a journalism major - starting a job with the school newspaper and yearbook staff. One of the senior-level students and editor of the paper told me, "You can't be afraid to stand on your head, if it will help you get a better picture." He was SO RIGHT!

Good resolution, I always forget my camera and there is just so much my phone can do.

I love this idea! I participated in project 365 this year, taking a photograph every day + posting them online. I can't recommend it more. My photography has improved immensely! And it's so fun to look back to see a photographic diary of my life this year.

This is so true. I'm always afraid of looking stupid, carrying a camera around in public. That's the mark of a good photographer though! I think I will try harder this year to do that as well.
