later she remembered all the hours of the afternoon as happy--one of those uneventful times that seem at the moment only a link between past and future pleasure, but turn out to have been the pleasure itself.

oh how i love those moments. This quote is so simple and honest. Loves it.
love this part of the book. actually, just love the whole book. so glad you post quotes!
That's one of my absolute favorite quotes. As soon as I came upon it in the book, I wrote it down in my quote book. It's so true... the most cherished memories are of the simple times... those in-between times that you don't ever think will really have an impact. They always do.
i always love the quotes you share.
reminds me of michael cunningham's "the hours" too...
"I remember one morning getting up at dawn, there was such a sense of possibility. You know, that feeling? And I remember thinking to myself: So, this is the beginning of happiness. This is where it starts. And of course there will always be more. It never occurred to me it wasn't the beginning. It was happiness. It was the moment. Right then."
glorious!
:)
This is just beautiful. I love the quotes you put up, you always manage to find the loveliest ones.
