a reminder. for myself, if for no one else.

"Why do you think you're here, Oskar?""I'm here, Dr. Fein, because it upsets my mom that I'm having an impossible time with my life." "Should it upset her?" "Not really. Life is impossible."

extremely loud and incredibly close

I love everything about this book. So many great quotes. I sort of overlooked this one, so thank you for this!

Anytime I forget who I want to be, anything by Jonathan Safran Foer tends to help me remember. :) This is beautiful.

I just discovered a book of sorts that reminds me of this blog, and I think you should invest in it. It's called "Wreck This Journal" and it's by Keri Smith, and it's half activity book and a quarter journal and a quarter self-discovery. It's just a fun little book that allows you tiny rebellions of all the basic rules of your day to day in teeny tiny ways that make you giggle out loud in public places. And this post and your coffee post made me think maybe you should check it out. Just saying.
