yes! TED is at the very top of my google reader. also, i watched a documentary called JK Rowling: A Year in the Life and she has become my hero. she is truly an incredible woman.
aren't these talks amazing!! i am more inspired and education with every listen!! love love love TED!! these people renew my faith in creativity. passion. and love.
How wonderful!! How inspiring!! Thanks Meg... just what I needed at this point in my awkward just starting college life. =D I always knew there was a reason I loved JK Rowling.
Rowling's speech has humbled me and put life into such prospective. What I most admire about her is her humility in the face of her greatness. That is truly the way to be.
And TED is just fantastic! I am so happy that it is gaining in popularity!
Oh Yes! I enjoy the TED talks. I, too, loved Gilbert's. I'll have to take a listen to J.K. Rowling's. I am always looking for things that might just change my life! Thanks! -cbm
Wow - that was an amazing talk by J.K. Rowling. She reminds me of myself - or at least who I hope to be in 10 years.
I, too, was the 20-something in college struggling between what I "should" study and want I wanted to study. In the end I, too, compromised, and now I'm stuck in a cycle of debt and discouragement.
Perhaps I can take a play from J.K.'s playbook and pull myself up by my bootstraps by following my heart instead of the voices of those who think they know better than I what would make me successful.

I've watched Liz Gilbert's approximately 10 times (awkward, but true...) - I also suggest Dave Eggers!

The J.K. Rowling one had me in tears. And I am not a crier.

I love Rowling's thinking that imagination makes empathy possible. What an incredible speech to graduate with!
