that's what she said...

"a man has to find a good woman, and when he finds her he has to win her love. then he has to earn her respect. then he has to cherish her trust. and then he has to, like, go on doing that for as long as they live. until they both die. that's what it's all about. that's the most important thing in the world. that's what a man is, yaar. a man is truly a man when he wins the love of a good woman, earns her respect, and keeps her trust. until you do that, you're not a man."

Well, technically he (Gregory David Roberts) said it in his book, Shantaram. The book is a veritable treasure trove of quotes. But this is the one that stuck with me.

Can you tell I've been thinking a lot about love lately? Must be all those peonies in my love corner.

And  then, he (husband-to-be) will learn to love my feet. All size ten of 'em.

Lovely quote, especially coming from a man. It's a pity they don't realise the amount of love and deviotion that a woman can give to her man. Lately I've been realising that, no matter how special and good that man is, if he wins that love and trust too easily, he won't know how to appreciate it and struggle to keep it. When you pay little on something, you don't care too much to preserve that thing.

off topic: where do you find shoes for your lovely size 10 feet?? (I can't find shoes *SOBS*)

I love that quote, thank you for putting it out there for me to read today.

that is a great quote. I like the part where it says he has to go on doing that for as long as they live.

I sometimes have to remind my husband the kind of giddy love we had when we first started dating.

he gets too comfy and forgets that I (or any girl) need that stuff.

Dia...what an insightful response. i need to think about that and remember it. thank you.

and Anna Kim...I love that..."It's a bright and wonderful day to fall in love"--that might just become my new working mantra!

and for you girls who can't find shoes that fit...What do you mean?! where are you shopping and when can we go shopping together. most shoes come in a size ten, but some of them that looked so cut in a size 6 end up looking like boats in our size. it's hard i know. but persevere big feet mean...big hearts?!

sadtimes mcbigfeet moment:
i was with a gentleman caller this week + he said something about how my feet were small. he wanted to prove that they were, indeed, small by standing next to me. which just proved they were the same size as his.
wahwahhhhhhhh size 10.

we are tall + strong + fierce. yes.
