i tried the key in all the doors,
even though he said he didn't recognize it.
it's not that i didn't trust him,
because i did.
it's that at the end of my search
i wanted to be able to say:
i don't know how i could have tried harder.

Such a great book.

Thanks for your comment on my blog, it's very reassuring to know that I'm not the only one grappling with anxious feelings. I'm not a fan of feeling like a crazy person, but knowing it's just one of those things that can effect people in any walk of life makes the crazy a little less :)

I need to read this book! I loved Everything Is Illuminated and actually met Jonathan at a book signing (he's even more cute and intelligent in person!)!

P.S. Love the new blog header! And hope everything in Salt Lake City is going well!

I love the new look! I wish you had a scooter in Utah, I like the image of you sipping around in your blue jeans with the mountains behind you reciting Shakespeare! xxx

i need to read this; this quote portrays truth... keep trying even if it seems like you can't try harder. I love quotes where every person can draw something different from it.

amazing amazing author. Have you read anything by his wife? Man Walks Into a Room and The History Of Love are both hers. Nichole Krauss. She's lovely as well.

I was just getting caught up on blogs tonight and I was so sad to see that you were feeling homesick earlier this week. I hope you are feeling better, because homesickness is the worst.
I just wanted to tell you that I love how you said you feel so far away from what you had once imagined for your life...because for the past week I have been feeling exactly the same way. Exactly. I've been trying to explain to people how I've been feeling and haven't been able to be quite so clear and concise as you were right there.

These mountains have healing powers, they really do. I hope to run into you sometime while you're here.
